Zouri, a 100% vegan brand founded in 2017, offers timeless and sustainable footwear. The founders Adriana and António wanted to do something about the plastic waste found on Portuguese beaches. And they did something stunning. It all started with sandals – hence the name Zouri; the name of a typical Japanese sandal. But now, in their factory in Guimarães, they also make stylish sneakers. For one pair of Zouri shoes, they use around six plastic bottles. And in one year, Zouri and their amazing volunteers collected around one ton of ocean plastic!

Also, Zouri is unique for its colorful soles. You can see in them what were once fishing nets or buoys. Of course, they use other sustainable materials too. Think of cork, Piñatex or Fairtrade and organic cotton. Making something new from waste should be the mission of our generation. And Zouri is showing us all how it can be done.
