That’s why we founded this 100% vegan, fair and sustainable marketplace with a heart for inclusivity and social entrepreneurship. These five values are at the foundation of every decision, project and partnership we undertake.

About our ethical framework

These five values are reflected throughout our online department store: from the intrinsic motivation of each of our teammates, the research we do and the articles we write to the brands we choose (not) to work with and the ethical collection we so curate.

We are not perfect, but our team is always unlearning and learning, inside and outside our company. We already have quite some knowledge amongst us: about veganism, about the climate crisis in general, about environmental pollution and the exploitation of people and animals in the fashion industry in particular, about how you can(‘t) perfectly measure what fair fashion really is, about how to determine what animal testing free cosmetics are and so on. But as a team we also learn every day about other equally important matters such as anti-racism, feminism and gender equality issues, how to adopt an intersectional view, how to navigate unintentional ableist language from our sellers and in what ways we can help make the world a more inclusive place to every single person in our midst.

By talking to sustainable fashion experts, reading books, watching documentaries, joining seminars and panel talks, connecting with mission-aligned fair fashion activists and having ethical discussions within the team, we’re constantly deepening our knowledge and broadening our horizons. Because the thing is: the more you learn about these issues, the more you become aware of how little you actually know.

Since we first launched our platform in 2018, we have continuously been upgrading our ethical framework that lies at the foundation of it all. Last updated mid 2022, we’re certain that this version too will see further refinements, following our ever evolving ethical standards and matching emerging sustainability issues.
