LaLu Products

LaLu Products was founded by the Dutch Janneke and Nepalese Bikash, who got to know each other during their studies in India and discovered that they share the same mission: to make a valuable contribution to the world. Their unique, honest backpacks and handbags are handmade by small family businesses in Nepal, using natural materials such as organic hemp, nettle and cotton. As these materials derive from wild plants that grow abundantly there, it’s not necessary to grow them: the harvesters cut the plants above the ground, so they can grow again. LaLu's ateliers are affiliated with the Women Empowerment Project and the UNDP, supporting people in poverty by offering them education and the opportunity to learn new skills. In particular, women from disadvantaged areas get the chance to earn their fair, independent place in the labour market. We applaud them!
