Charlotte and Marieke started their careers in the traditional fashion industry, but soon found out that they did not agree with the conventional working methods. Aiming to make fair fashion the new standard, they founded the agency Charlie + Mary in 2009 and assisted several slow fashion businesses. More recently they launched their own clothing collection: CharlieMary. They use fabrics like Tencel, organic cotton, recycled materials and ‘deadstock’ fabrics: leftover inventory from other brands. From these fabrics, they create beautiful items - under good and safe conditions - in both Turkey and the Netherlands. Timeless and comfortable, created to wear for many years to come.
